In recent years, Jamaican popular music has undergone a major transformation, with the abandonment of the historic production of 45 RPM vinyl records being the most significant change. This shift has been the spearhead and benchmark of the vitality of the music industry. While this halt has not impacted the productivity of artists, it has significantly redirected production towards conquering the international market.

Love & Life by I-Octane embodies this ambition. Clearly crafted for this market, it is a meticulously polished blend of international pop, Caribbean sounds, and dancehall influences. As for the themes of the compositions, the album carefully avoids the hardcore edge that has characterized much of Jamaican production in recent years, opting instead for a celebration of love and a decidedly positive message.

The album consists of 17 tracks, a remarkable feat, along with two bonus singles “One Chance” featuring Ginjah and “Weh Di Fire Gone.” Guest artists J-Boog, Demarco, Yanique Curvy Diva, Romain Virgo and Shaggy lend their support to this third effort from the singjay.
