The Fourth Annual Caribbean Music Awards will honor Shyne, Calypso Rose, Alan Cavé, and Patra for their significant contributions to Caribbean music. Taking place on September 19, 2026, at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA) in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, this event showcases the theme 'Sounds of the Caribbean', celebrating the rich musical heritage that defines the region.
Presented by Tourism Trinidad Limited, the awards are part of the inaugural Caribbean Music Awards Elite Weekend Experience. This three-day celebration will bring together artists, fans, and cultural tastemakers from across the Caribbean and beyond, emphasizing the global influence of Caribbean genres such as dancehall, reggae, calypso, and konpa.
Patra will receive the Lifetime Achievement Honor for her groundbreaking career that has left a lasting impact on dancehall and reggae. Her debut album, Queen of the Pack, made history as the first by a Jamaican female artist to reach No. 1 on Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart. Shyne is set to receive the Global Ambassador Honor, recognizing his evolution from a celebrated artist to a humanitarian and cultural leader.
Calypso Rose will be awarded the Elite Calypso Honor for her legendary contributions to calypso music, while Alan Cavé will receive the Elite Konpa Honor for his influential role in the Haitian music scene. Each honoree has played a vital part in shaping the global landscape of Caribbean music, making this event a significant moment in recognizing their achievements.
