DEBUT ALBUM

“I dreamed of the stage and I understood that an album could lead me there; I’m still on the path, I dove in without too much thought, I love to learn and push myself, and for that, I’m well served.”
INSPIRATION
“I draw my inspiration from my mind and my heart above all, and I am an observer… you learn a lot from your peers.”
LA FLEUR DU MAL
It’s a title that has followed me for a long time. I had the opportunity to record it in Havana when I was 25, and I was just discovering my voice. In fact, I’m still discovering it…
It was important for me to return to Havana to shoot this footage under my label Kemet Karibeans Music to share a bit of my story with the public. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the amazing team that contributed to this beautiful project: Gaëlle Gimer, Zandolywood & Mis’ko.
You chose Cuba to shoot the video. A love at first sight?
Yes, definitely.
Cuba: The starting point of the album
- 2008 with the Kreyol label (recordings of the tracks “ou Pati,” “Esperanza,” La fleur du mal)
- Returned in 2017 to shoot the video for “la fleur du mal”
I always say that I was born for the second time in 2008 in Havana. I invite you to discover this people, their humility, their history, and their island. Hasta Siempre!!!
OVER 10 YEARS OF CAREER
Showcases, opening acts, concerts, festivals…
Do you face difficulties as a Guadeloupean artist in promoting your music?
Yes, like all of us I think, but I won’t complain. It’s part of the journey.
“I work hard & I carve my own path.”
