Biography

EDS. has been exercising his style since the late 90s. Passionate about raggamuffin since childhood, he wrote his first rhymes when he discovered hip hop in his teenage years.
He evolves, with his group Sked Skwad, from a raw performance rap culture (radio freestyles, self-produced mixtapes) towards an increasing need to produce music that reflects his image.
The lyrics of their album "Chimen Chien" (2010) speak of black identity, of their lives as Martiniquais who moved to France. And the music is nourished by Caribbean samples and rhythms, played live with musicians from the emerging new scene.

Having gone through hosting radio shows and workshops for Creole hip hop creation (Laché Chivé), EDS. signs his business card "Exercice De Style" in 2014.
The lyrics of his flagship album "La Caresse d'une Feuille de Canne" carry him to the title of slam champion of Martinique in 2020.
His album "Palaviré EP1" with Boris Reine-Adelaide strikes with an unprecedented digital blend of rap, dancehall, and bèlè.
His perspective on male-female relationships in the album "Zwel Séré" (2024) brings him to zouk or reggae.

A prolific author, even for other artists (Demwazel Dys, Léa Galva in 2025), EDS. explores languages, Creole and French, the art of bringing words together, dressing the rhythm to convey his reflections and emotions as accurately as possible. A vibrant music, keen to offer a sensitive and modern reading of who he is, of who we are.
